For the last few months Toy has been working with the Golden Bay Museum Te waka huia o mohua towards a community exhibition.

Her proposed idea was to invite local artists to explore the original collection, pick a piece that spoke to them and create something new inspired by that original item.
With help of funding from Creative Communities Tasman 27 artists stepped up.
The culminating exhibition Origin Original art inspired by the original collection,
is a wonderful testament to the creative artistic community we're lucky enough to be a part of.
If you find yourself in Tākaka, Golden Bay this summer do go and check it out, it's free entry and runs till April 2026.
As we're on the subject of what an artistic and creative place we live in, we just had our annual community wide, art exhibition Bay Art.
Traffic(ing) by Dy Trying (aka Toy Murchie) won an award.
It's now on show at Sculpture705.
