There is one particular tree in the garden (not native) that house a large stick insect population (that are indigenous).
Masters of disguise, they blend in perfectly with their surroundings in colours of both green and brown.
At first you can never find them, then, like a magical transformation you suddenly see one, then two, three.....ten, twenty.... some over 120mm long.
How did we ever NOT see them?!
